This playbook is based on our experience organizing 4 Green Heating and Cooling Events, 2 each in the towns of Concord and Wayland, MA. We organized sister events in the two nearby towns in June 2019 and two more sister events in the same towns in Winter 2020. In both cases, one event was held on a weekend and one on a weeknight. Surveys have shown that homeowner’s uncertainty about installers is a key obstacle that delays them from replacing or upgrading their heating and cooling system. Therefore, a key aspect of our events was giving homeowners an opportunity to meet multiple installers in one place and form their own impressions. The events also provided an opportunity for installers to meet potential new customers. We also organized a virtual event without installers.
