Deep Dive Workshop 1:
The secret sauce to ramping up Community Engagement: Your first $10k

Thursday, April 9, 2026 | 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Bentley University
Duration: 3-hour interactive workshop
Facilitated by: Green Community Catalysts

Strong community engagement requires sustainable funding. This hands-on workshop is designed for community and grassroots organizations — both new and established — that want to move beyond short-term projects and build lasting momentum.

If your organization struggles with reaching audiences beyond the “choir,” maintaining volunteer energy, securing stakeholder support, or sustaining long-term initiatives, this workshop is for you.

Together, we’ll explore why funding is essential, how much funding is realistically needed, the difference between restricted and unrestricted funding, and the range of funding sources available to community organizations. You’ll work through practical examples, use ready-to-go templates, and develop a custom Funding Playbook — a step-by-step plan to raise your first $10,000.

Takeaway: Leave with a personalized fundraising plan you can put into action immediately.

Conference special rate: $85
(Ordinarily $450. 100% reimbursable for qualifying organizations through the Workforce Training Fund Program — ask us if you qualify.)

Who should attend?

This workshop is ideal for:

• Community climate leaders
• Grassroots organizers
• Municipal sustainability staff
• Nonprofits working on climate and clean energy
• Anyone responsible for outreach or communications

No design experience is required.

Ready to turn your outreach ideas into professional-quality content?

This hands-on Deep Dive Workshop equips climate and community leaders with practical design and tracking tools to strengthen real-world outreach. Participants will receive guided instruction and live practice in Canva — from still graphics to animated video — and learn how to track engagement using Bit.ly and the MassEnergize Outreach Planner.

You won’t just watch — you’ll build.

Through step-by-step exercises, participants will design graphics, experiment with motion and video, organize campaigns, and learn how to measure impact. By the end of the session, you’ll leave with finished assets, templates, and a repeatable workflow you can immediately apply in your own community.

Ideal for beginners and intermediate users alike, this workshop focuses on confidence, muscle memory, and practical execution — not theory.
